Bose amp repair

I understand the bose amps in the 3rd gen. Maximas are prone to fail. Has anyone got down to the tron level and determined what part commonly fails? Mine is making a motor boat noise.

About 6-7 months ago, someone posted on here some detailed info on the parts that fail on them and which IC/capacitor(s) to replace. It was like a 2 paragraph write-up, if I'm not mistaken...

I am looking for the same thing; here is what I found so far

http://www.geocities.com/canuckamp/bose.html - a good discussion on bose problems

http://www.boserepair.com - this guy if Florida will repair the amp for about $100.

Anybody know of a retailer that sells these amps?

www.peripheral-aamp.com makes a replacement Bose type amplifier. These are available from any Stinger Car audio accessory dealer....

Thanks. $200 for an 'economical' replacement amp? I thought that is what the Nissan dealers charge. Your boseamp guy in Florida looks pretty good for a $100 repair...

Yup that's the most economical route....I always recommend them first as opposed to buying new replacement amps....but in this case it was mentioned already...

There's also this guy: http://www.willmanselectronics.com/nissan.htm

I'm not making any recommendation, since I've never dealt with him. I just came across his website, that's all.
