Just wondering what everyone listens to when they're fine tuning their setup. When I was in competitions (about 15 years ago) I had a competition set-up casette tape (cutting edge) with different frequencies and two or three music passages on it. Now I mostly fine tune my bass using some heavy bass passages that I downloaded from Napster and various cd's that I know are good recordings (my home stereo is my best and most accurate stereo so I use that for reference). Examples of what I use in the car: Peter Gadriel "Us", Robert Plant "Shaken and Stirred", Paula Cole "This Fire", Sting "Soul Cages", Phil Collins "No Jacket Required", Metallica the black album, Guns & Roses "Illusion II", Steely Dan "Greatest Hits", Madonna "Immaculate Collection". Is there anything I can download out there to help me keep dialing in my system (like a competition cd). It sounds nice now/more accurate than boomy and I think I'm 90% satisfied. I'm tweaking now just for fun and to see what my limits are.

I have a Bass Mekanic CD. It's got some tracks, test tunes, and tracks 20-99 are frequences from 18-7* hz

Rather than buy a new CD that you have had very little listening experience, use your classics and favorites. It's important to listen to things that you are familiar so that you can make the proper adjustments. I try to use a wide range of music. Guitars, Drums, male vocals, female vocals, choral, acoustic, synthesized, etc. . . I've got Telarc, Shefield, Floyd, Cole, Vaughn, but it's really irelevant. How accurately you can match the sound in your home will be determined by your experience with the cd you choose, and your experience with music in general.
