Re: Re: bose and subs
Did you also reduce the bass going to your rear speakers?? I always found the bose worked those rear 6.5s too hard in the bass region.

I got an rca adapter. It plugs into the headunit and has 2 rca outputs. Works great. I tapped in before into the rear speakers, and did not like the results, although some people do it without any problems. The entire bose system would lose clarity, and there was slight engine noise. Also the rear speakers would play much lower. Make sure you tap into the speaker before the amp. I think that signal is low level so you can run it straight into your rca input on your amp. If i were you I'd just spend the 20 bucks and get an adapter, and save much agitation later.

The adapter I have does not adjust (there is not need). It plugs into the rear of the headunit so the signal is already low lever. Thats the converter i suggest you get. I wouldnt mess with the ones you adjust. What I have is basically a small box with a wire harness on each end. One end plugs into the bose headunit and the other into the cable that used to go to the headunit. The signal basically passes through the box.

* If you use the adapter, the one plug into the Bose headunit, it is like you have a headunit with 2 preouts...right?
They're commonly known as LOCs, or Line Output Converters. Do a search for those. And yes, with those, you get 2 line-out/pre-outs from your Bose.

So what's the name of the adapter called? This is the one where you plug into the rear of the Bose headunit. Also, how much did you pay for it and where did you purchased it from. Thanks.
