ready to buy need help please

i need some advice on some new stuff i wanna buy
i am looking to buy an alpine mrv-t757 and running 2 jl 12w3's.
now i don't know a lot about amps. still trying to figure out what SQ and SPL stands for. I dont have to necessarily go with the above mentioned system. i already have an alpine mrv-f356 running my fronts and rears, so i was thinking that for the subs i should get an alpine so they turn on and off at the same time. also will i have to get another battery to run 2 amps.

any recommendations and advice will be greatly appreciated.

SQ....is Sound Quality, SPL stands for Sound Pressure Level Measured in 'Db' (decibals) Basically SPL is how friggin loud your car is !
As far as the equiptment you mentioned it should sound fine. It would not be a "killer system" but pretty decent sound. The situation with you wanting both of the amps to turn on at the same time is irrelevant to what brand they are. The remote lead on your radio is what turns them on. You may want to add a relay to it when doing multiple amps. As far as a second battery.....It is NOT in any way neccasary for this set-up.Nor would you need to upgrade your alternator. At very most maybe a 1/2 or 1 Farad cap. I think I answered everything. If not feel free to ask more.

You want a killer system, get one JL W7 12". That will blow away 3 W3s with just one sub guranteed.

We put 2 cars together at a soundoff...one Honda Accord with 1 JL 12W7 and another Honda Civic with 2 10W3's. The Honda Accord blew away the Civic in loudness and SPL.

Russ: Did you get your W7 yet? Let me know if you need a hookup.

I could use the hook up, no I haven't gotten it yet, but I have decided to get one. As soon as I sell my custom made box for a Maxima with 2 12" Perfects in it, I will have the cash for the sub. Then all I need to do is get a 1000watt amp for it. I only need one sub..

www.jlaudio.com has good specs on what power of amp you should use. Optimal level for 1 12" w7 is 1000watts. You can run it at 500w and it will still be loud. It has a nice chart on the website. Take a look. I would recommend 1000/1 JL amp (pricey but worth it), or cheaper, PPI, JBL 1200.1, Rockford.
