I know a guy that is selling a JL Audio 12" W-4 subwoofer that is used for 2 months. He says that the peak power is 600 watts. Is he correct? He is charging $50 American for the amp. I this a good deal? Thanks.

W4???? i know they make wo, w3, and w6..but i have never

heard of the w4

Yeah, the W4 series is older, like the W1s. I wouldn't put 600 watts to it, though. I would aim for 300. But be careful about buying used subs; it might be ailing.

I'm with micah, I don't think they can handle 600 Watts, especially if they are old.

JL Audio rates the 12W4 as handling 100-200 watts. JL Audio underrates their subs, so it could handle 300 if you already had that much power. Otherwise, 150 will push it well.
