Differences between J30 Bose and Maxima Bose

I drive a 93 Infiniti J30t and my dad has a 98 Maxima SE. I've noticed that both Bose systems sound very different. Here's what I've noticed: First of all, the base response in the J30 is alot weaker than in the Maxima. However, the high end freqs sound crystal clear. The sound dampening in the Infinity is alot greater than in the Maxima. The J30's bose is better for Rock, jazz...but the bass just doesnt punch enough for the type of music i listen to (trance). I was wondering if it is possible to add an amp to the factory Bose system in my J30. But the car has a miniscule trunk and i think the trunk is fairly isolated from the interior of the car, I think the gas tank sits between the trunk and the cabin. I dont know if that has an affect on the subwoofers or not. Anyone know of an INfinity forum? I know there isnt a big group of people that Mod J30's...but Its definatly nice to be able to talk to knowledgeable people. Oh, and for those of you that dont know...my J30 has the 90-96 300zx engine :-)

Put a free-air sub in the rear deck. Cut a hole or better yet, take out the rear speakers, and replace each one with an 8" JL free-air subs bolted from underneath.
