Not for competitions. db drag racing, IDBL, and other sound off's are huge! I can't keep enough W7's in stock.

I know where you are coming from. For most people, the W7 is out of reach. Sub vs. sub, the W7 will outperform the RF in pretty much every category. It really depends on what you want the sub to do, what music you like, and of course, how much you are willing to spend.

I think the question was which one of these two subs only, we would go with for sound quality. So the answer is simple. No ifs, ands or buts. There was no mention of what sub we would buy if we had $300, $400, $500, $600. Just what of those two we would choose. So under those terms, if I had nothing else to choose from I would take the JL, or even a few of them.

Call Custom Auto Radio in Saugus, MA. Ask for Jamie Perkins. Tell him Freddie Caruso referred you, he'll hook you up...

It may cost more for shipping...

I have the 12W7. the woofer itself weighs 45LBS and the box is another 40-50 or so.

How does it sound??????????????????

Let's say I brought an iasca test CD into Tweeter and the store was rattling. That was the only the 10W7....

#'s?, put out? Louder?

Subwoofers don't put out anything. I think you are referring to sound pressure level (SPL). It depends on the car, enclosure, subwoofer, power, etc....

There is a lot of information to post about it. Search around car audio forums...

The JLAudio 12W7 needs about 750watts RMS to run good...

save some money, go with the new kicker solo-baric L7. it's a good woofer that could hold alot of power for a long time. the 12w7 is the first woofer in the JLAudio line that is able to hold some kind of power and like the RF woofer it will produce noise after a very short time of use.

check out kicker.com i think it takes about 2 weeks just to break-in an L7 woofer. it also uses a small box (.66).

for the price of 1 JL you could buy 2 10" L7 and a sealed box.

i myself will be installing 2 10" L7"s with a pwr 1000.2 rockford fosgate i my max.

good luck on your pick.

Two weeks to break in if you run it 24 hours a day. It takes a month to break in decent components. I honestly think my MD is just broken in after a few months of abuse with over 500 watts RMS. I mean real abusive listening. And I did do a burn in with pink noise prior to installing the sub.

My brother has a pair of 12" HE2's. (Not the same, but close) They are loud as hell and pound nicely, but in terms of SQ, I think theres better products out there. He bought it cheap, so guess he cant complain. Peace.

The HE'2s are nice and will give good output. They are a "budget woofer". The HX2's are a different story...
