stealth & custom install help

Is there a website or magazine where i can view some stealth install setups. I am looking to redo my audio setup this spring and I want to go all out.

Is there aplace where i can order cusom molded pieces for a max trunk etc?

If i cant do stealth i would at LEAST like to get something more attractive than a box sitting in my truck.

If anyone has a sweet trunk setup post some pics so i can get some ideas.

thanks

You can only have one of them and it already has a sub in it?

How do you like that?

Just one sub but it's more than enough for me, I love it.

What didn't you like about it?
I've never heard one complaint about JL subs. What did your system consist of at the time?

I had them about three cars ago. I was using an alpine v12 amp to power them (300w?) had them bridged and one would blow out every month or so.

And they sounded muddy, they would play normal music fine, but when it came to a good bassline they choked and all the strings would bend together to be one muddy mess.

Im not sure what model they were, but they were the low ends.. i payed about 150 ea

It sounds like your subs were underpowered. It is easier to blow a sub underdriving it more than overdriving it. Alpine amps are good but not strong in the bass department. You probably had a W3, go with the JL 250/1. It is matched perfectly to the W3.

No i had the proper amount of airspace and power. That is what i thought after listening to them for a while. I tried a diff amp... (xtant) didnt make a diff so i took the xtant back and stuck with the alpine until i could afford a new set of subs

I just got mine in today It sounds pretty damn. Alot better than my previous set up of 2 12" Pioneers. And there is so much trunk space I no longer have to haul bodies around in the back seat I need some suggestions on where i should mount the amp. The amp is relatively small, the footprint is 9.3" x 9.75" x 2.1" Any pics on mounting options would help thanks Chris

My amp is mounted to the top of the trunk (not cover), it's kinda hanging upside down.

I almost mounted an amp that way in a different car I had, but the manual for the amp said not to do it cause it wouldn't be able to dissapate heat (all the surface area was on the top of the amp, and since heat rises..)

I guess it depends on the design of the amp though. Just woudln't want it to overheat.

Make sure you've got correct cooling and you'll be okay..

My amps have the ability to be water cooled. I may or may not do it later, but I'm not messing with it right now. they're all right behind my subs, so they get tons of air moving over them to keep cool.
