Cheaper or not?? For Amp wiring kits?

Would it be cheaper to just buy a 4 gauge amp wiring and power distribution kit )one that comes with distribution block and everything), or would it be more effiecient to buy just the 4 ga amp kit, and then buy the block separetly. Reason i ask is because one place is going to charge me 112 bucks for a 4 gauge Pro Power distribution kit (STINGER), and i believe it only retails for 76, so i am just looking for a cheaper route.

Its the first one on this list.

Has anyone ever bought anything off SOUNDDOMAIN.com Because i have thought about buying that kit off them, but i am not sure what the shipping would cost on an item like that. I am sure it would **** the audio shop i would have this installed at off, because i went in there and asked what they would use for the amp kit, and the guy handed me the exact one that you see abovebut for 112 bucks, which is the retail price

thanks

Go to www.ampmanaudio.com The owner / operator (or manager, i am not 100% sure) is Canuck, an org member. He frequently posts in the 4th gen and group deal sections. Send an email requesting a fair quote. I've never ordered anything from sound domain. It seems like the only stuff they have cheap is no longer made. And just in stall it yourself. It will take a lot less time than what you have already spent asking questions.

Installation is not hard if you just take your time and make sure you have planned everything out and that you have the appropriate tools. Plus, it always helps to know how to fix something if it messes up. And it's easier to do that if you did it the first time.

I bought a complete 4 G Fosgate kit from cartoyz...i believe the website is cratoyz.com, unless there is a store in your area. It retails for $140 at bestbuy, but i only paid $49.99 for it. Dunno why, but that was there price. Also got a pheonix gold dis. block for about $25 buck for the power. You just need to shop around and find the best prices...it took me like 2 days to look at all the shops i know of, but i live in Houston and there is alot to look at. Good luck.
-I could try to draw a pic in paintbrush of how to install the amp for you if that will help and e-mail it...lemme know and my e-mail is blakettu@yahoo.com if you need it.

Well, my plan was that i could get my rear 2 speakers done by my friend, and possibly the cd player. Then i could buy the distribution kit. Then i would go into one of the places and say, all i need now is this stuff installed. Since i have 2 of the things out of the way, then it would be cheaper. I don't mind paying for it, i just wanted to save some money here and there.

Just wondering, with the cd player. if i understand correctly, there is something that i would need to get or buy that is like a splitter or something so i can listen to the radio through the aftermarket cd player. What is that? Does that usually come with a cd player? I had a guy tell me down here because of a maxima, he would make a separate connection through the cd player with the attenna wire.

Its ok, i don't need a paintshop picture.

thanks

so you have a radio AND a cd player...they aren't in the same unit?? If that is what you have i dunno anything about those cd player add-ons. If it's an aftermarket head unit, then you shouldn't need a splitter for the radio...should be built in to the unit.CD/Radio in one. I know if this is the first aftermarket headunit in the max, then you'll need a wire harness b/c the factory wire harness will not hook into the cd player. If you have anymore questions...i'll be glad to help. This is my field

No No No, im sorry. Let me clarify. Its the Eclipse Head unit, model # 54410. It has radio built in.

I want that installed in place of the current factory cd/radio/tape deck.

Maybe that is what the guy was saying. But it had to do with the antenna and getting the head unit to pick up radio stations. It might have simply been the harness. I believe it only goes for like 15 bucks, right? Maybe 40. one of those 2 prices.

Don't worry, there will be plenty of questions to ask

thanks

you DO need a "antenna thingy"..its called an antenna adaptor.NISSAN uses a "diversity" antenna....and its a different style plug than what aftermaket stereo's have...Its called a Nissan DIversity antenna adaptor...its like 11 bux at best buy..you'll need that with the wiring harness to get it powered..and playing music from the radio and CD's

Thanks larry. I will head over to best buy tommorow and pick one up, here in Evansville. Also, should I ask Anton (Sweetsound) about the cd player he is sending me, since i don't know the back of it, so you can tell me about the wiring harness. What do i need to look for?

Thanks

while you are at best buy tom...tell them you are putting an aftermarket eclipse cd player in place of the factory radio and you need to but the antenna addaptor and wireing harness...they'll know what you're talking about and will give you what you need for your max. Each car has a different wiring harness, but they'll give you the right things you need. And if you're friend is installing it for you, he should know what needs to be bought for it to work. Ask him or get him to go with you to BB...he sounds like he'll know more about it that you( no offense)
