Wiring for you car stereo?
Wiring for you car stereo?
I spoke with a sales guy at goodguys and he said that if you are running 2 amps in your car, you will need to user a 4 gauge wire and split it off to 2 8 guage wires. I want to know is all this necessary. He said that the wiring will cost around $100, w/o the rca cables. Is this necessary?

Probably about right, depends on how many watts and amps each one is pulling. Try doing a search, we just talked about this a couple of weeks ago...

Thanks for the response...I figured it wouldnt hurt to run the 4 gauge wiring, so I just went ahead and started wiring my system last night. I installed the HU and the rear speaker. Today I should be able to do the rest. Thanks!
i'll tell you what. I thought about buying this and that off the internet, but this past weekend i went ahead and had most of my car setup and wired, just not powered yet for the amps, but i have 2 amps and i went to walmart and bought a scosche duel amp kit, that has between 300-1200 watts, and it comes with everything needed, all for 27 bucks. See for me though, i am not looking for a huge system, just something to get me buy. If you are going for something that is going to be HYPE and loud, then obviously a better amp kit would work
