Question on Alpine v12 mrv-100m settings?
I have an Alpine v12 mrv-100m amp powering my 10 inch JL audio sub. Well, i was having problems last night trying to get any sound to come out of it. I was told i needed to change the gain. I didn't think i needed to because i originally had it in my Grand am running off the factory HU and didn't need to alter the gain. Well, here are the settings on the side of the amp. And then after that, i will show you what i have for those.
The side includes:
Phase - has a 0 degree and a 180 degree
LP Filter - starts at 50 and works its way to 200. Its a circle.
BASS EQ - Has an off and on, then a circle next to it. It has a 0 db, then a +6 db where 12 oclock would be, and then 12 db at the end
Gain - has a min, then a NOM at 12 oclock, then at 2 oclock it has 0.5 v, and a Max at the end.
I noticed that my sub doesn't sound very loud when i have the BASS EQ off. It played fine in my grand am when it was off. But i turned it on and it is loud now.
My BASS EQ is set at around +8 db.
The gain is set just pass the 0.5 v
Now my Eclipse HU settings are the following on a -6 to +6 level
Bass - -4
Treble - +3
Fade=0
Subwoofer - 16 (this is a 1 to 16 option)
What can you guys recommend on my settings to get the best sound quality. I wasn't sure if i can make my gain MAX. I am allowed a little more since I have the separate sub woofer control
Thanks
bryan
