Changing the LED's in my CD Player.. possible??

I have the JVC KD-SH99 CD player. The buttons are red and doesn't match anything else, im wondering if i can change them to a white or a blue. How hard would it be to change those bulbs? I am going to the the blue LED window switches soon as i get a chance too, so it would be good if they could match. Also anyone tryed changin the bulb on the ignition switch light from the green, to somethin else?

It depends on what kind of LEDs are in there. Allied Electronics (http://www.aliedelec.com i think)sells surface mount LEDs, and a couple of them even come in blue. Only problem is they're not terribly bright, and I have no idea what the specs on the LEDs in a faceplate are. I'm considering doing the same thing to a stereo I'm thinking about buying. If you attempt it, make sure you know what you're doing though. You don't want to put in LEDs with a different rating and overload them. And you don't want to make your stereo useless by breaking the faceplate or display or something.
I think it's possible though.

i think there's a good chance it would be possible, depending on the HU anyway, but you might kill any warranty you have, if any. and like he said, you wanna make sure you don't screw it up completely...then you'll have a broken unit with no warranty...

Unless you're an electronics repair person or someone with a lot of knowledge about internal electronic components, I would not mess around with the CD player lighting. Buy a different CD player with matching lighting or ask a stereo shop if they can do it for you.

just for information guys, with alpines you can take them to the nearest service center, and ask to have them change the bulb colors to blue from green or vice versa, and it WILL NOT affect the warranty.

I think that any brand that has the ability to change bulbs will honor the warranty if it's performed by a certified service center. I think the other posts about voiding the warranty is only referring to someone doing the bulb swap themselves.
