Question about Surface Mount Devices (SMD)
I'm looking to change the illumination color in my new Pioneer CD player. I've done this on a Kenwood. All that was involved was switching out the surface mounted LEDs on the PCB.
In my pioneer, it appears that some of the SMD buttons on the PCB have the LEDs integrated into them. They appear to have 3 solder contacts on them (switch, LED & common ground???)
Is anyone here familiar with these devices? What are they called? Where can I buy them?
Help....

www.eled.com also seemed to have a pretty good selection of surface mount LEDs. I'm gonna try to switch out some in my faceplate when I get a new stereo this summer (hopefully).
re-reading your post that info might not help..any way you could post a picture of the switch leds?
