If you want your subs to be loud then u MUST get an amp. I got 2 15's and my amp broke for a while, so i got a loner which was alot smaller wattage and you can really tell the difference. A one channel amp shouldnt be much. I got a kenwood 800 x 2 (sends 800 watts to both subs) i paid 349 or something and it sounds great. Im getting 2 15 in solo barics soon and a custom made enclosure.

Yeah first of all you need an amp if you want a sub. I kind of have a similar set up to what you're looking for but I had Bose in my car which made everything difficult to reconfigure
Heres my set up: Kenwood KDC716s deck, Infinity Kappa 6.5's in front, the Bose 6.5's in the rear(all speakers powered by deck.)
Amp: Kenwood Excelon 401 which is about 400 rms (mono amp) Sub: Rockford Fosgate HE2 12". I think RF makes good quality subs for the money, all of their subs are quality above the base Punch Z ones. It's all up to you though, just do some research.

Its a weird situation the bose speakers are 1.2 ohm. When i was adding a sub and an amp I had everything off my bose deck. When they were installing everything they had it running off the existing speakers, all 4 bose. One of the rear speakers self amped thing was fried during installation. Ultimate electronics said they would replace it by putting a small amp for that one speaker because the speaker was fine only the amp was fried. They couldn't find an amp for the speaker so for free the guys at Ultimate hooked me up with the deck and ran all the speakers off the deck and put 2 Infinity Kappas in the front but didn't replace the speakers in the back. Thats the part I don't know, why they replaced the front and not the rear speakers, are they any different. I'm not sure but the speakers work fine but the self amp that previously gave power to the rear speakers is no longer used.
