Bumpin' Kicker Solo-Baric 12"

Yo what up i got a 12" L5 Solo with a 1200 watt amp and the system keeps on shutting down or the fuse blows. If I hooked up another 12 would that fix it. I think the Amp is overheating.... HELP

the power and ground wire for your amp (1200watts) should be 1/0 gauge. so it should really be big in diameter. if your wire is too small your amp isn't getting enough power from the electrical system of the car, and the amp is blowing fuses, cause of that. well, that's my take.

no, the problem is the amp isn't getting enough power itself, so it cannot put out the amount of power it is rated at. that's if the wire is in fact the wrong size.

4awg for sure at a MIN, 2awg would be great, but run 0/1 so you can upgrade later on if you add another amp

yeah, i say go with the 0/1 awg. but let us know what size you have now. it might not be the wire, until we know what you have.

8 gauge is definately too small. phoenix gold recommended me to use 4 gauge possibly 2 gauge on the 500 watt i'm using of theirs.

i'm not sure where to find the 1/0 connectors or terminals. maybe find the biggest you can. thin the wire out till it fits and then solder it.
