I want the remote start feature

what is done when you buy an alrwm to go in a car that already has a factory keyless entry and alarm...?

 

Your facory alarm will be "bypassed", and the new alarm will be installed as if the car was not equipped with one. It all depends on the installer, though. The installer may keep your entry points on the factory alarm and "tap" into these wires, without going through the hassle of re-wiring. Remote starts are good, except it is prone to us Maxima owners that we have bad starters in our cars, especially if you have the 8 tooth gear instead of the 10 tooth gear starters. I had a remote start on my Viper alarm, and it caused nothing but problems--the car failed to start at times because of the starter problems in our Maximas. But, you may have better luck! Go for it!
