Sorry to hear that dude, but don't blame yourself. The bose system is a piece of crap, it was bound to blow up on you sooner or later.

I would have to agree , they are a piece of crap. Don't waste the money in repairing it, just get it replaced with something more reliable.

This was a message from the Gods telling you that Bose is crap and it is time to move on to an aftermarket system (Deck and speakers). Don't pay to fix the Bose because another amp will likely fry soon...

I don't know anyone besides on this board who has ever complained about a Bose system either.

I haven't had a single problem with Bose, and I love the sound quality!! Plus, I don't have the funds to strip all the bose wiring and totally rewire a whole new stereo in my car

If you really want to keep the Bose, I'd have a nissan dealership look at it...sounds like the amp is bad, but it could also mean a short circuit somewhere.....

I admit, the BOSE is a fair factory system, good enough for most. I am demanding and it doesn't meet my needs, but that is besides the point. The BOSE system is known to not be reliable with amp problems. Were not blaming a product we don't know how to use. Were blaming a product that is unreliabe. Nothing more, nothing less.

i was talking to a guy at work whose brother has a 96 maxima, and he said that the system had to be replaced due to problems. i personally haven't had any problems with the bose system myself. they work perfectly fine, but when they do crap out, i will move on to an aftermarket speaker

Personally I think the Bose is pretty good. It's nothing like an expensive aftermarket setup can be, but with my Sub it definitely evens out the sound. And I do believe the saying goes "No Highs, No Lows, Gotta Be Bose"

Nope. Visit http://carstereohelp.com/nissan.htm.

My buddy has a 99 SE, and the radio buttons fell of his BOSE. He was able to get replacement buttons for a VERY good price. (like under $15) Check them out.

your best bet is to do what I did to my other max. (93) The amp blew on the right Back speaker, so I just rewired some wires from the left speaker to the right, so that the right amp is giving power to both, worked fine, no problems. (By Pass my friend, By Pass)

Before ripping out a bose, try these sites

Especially if you like the sound
www.davescoolstuff.com
www.carstereohelp.com

I used the 1st one and got a speaker/amp replaced. Well worth it.
