good way to secure audio equipment in car

im shipping my car soon and i need a way to secure my amp and disc changer. the amp is under the passenger seat and the disc changer is under the drivers seat. right now its just screwed. im looking for ideas on how to permanatly keep it in there against theft. thanx in advance.

screwing outta do it fine. I mean, it would take them long enough to get the seats out and then pull the screws out, unless they got a dremel or something to cut the screws but even then I dont think they would be able to.

If they want them.......they get them. Only thing you can realy do is either thake them out, or buy those screws that go in but never come out. Or you could strip the ones that are in there now beyond recognition

If you spent tons of money on very high end units, then give yourself some peace of mind and just remove them.

Otherwise... if you plan on keeping these units for a very long time, put in one-way screws.

Another alternative, is to get plastic first aid boxes, cut out the bottoms, and put them over the units (make sure you have the red cross markers on the sides). If they fit nice and snug, they might fool a would-be thief.

One other possibility, is just cram all kinds of crap under your seats. If anyone takes a look inside your car to see if there's something to steal, they'll probably overlook the mess... (it's very common for people to have all sorts of worthless crap under there).
