I was wondering where you guys installed the crossovers. I need some ideas. Also how did you run your speaker wire from the speaker to the crossover? Thanks.

I had a shop install my stuff, but I do know that these are the crossovers for the front. They ran the driver side tweeter wire right along the power wire... I wonder why I have some alternator noise in my system! The rest of the wires are tucked away from the power wire. I believe they ran the lines for the passenger side along the RCA cables.

I put mine in the trunk. I ran wires under the step trip. It is very easy to remove, it pops out.

I apologize, I meant to say how did you run the wire (front speaker) through the door and into the cabin. I was going to run the wire through the rubber boot that attaches to the door and the car but it is actually some kind of plug with pins. So what I did is, I connect speaker wire to the speaker into the stock plug and taped it up. (i knoe I am not being very clear here either) But I don't know how I am going to be able to hook up the crossover to the other end of the stock harness. Maybe I need to post a pick of the harness for the stock speaker. Let me know if I am confusing you cause I am confusing my self, sorry guys not enough sleep this past week.

I didn't run it thru doors, I used factory wiring at that point. What you do is: Connect the speaker to factory wire in the door. Note the color if the factory wires. Pop up the step plate and you will see a big wire bundle running there. You have to open the bundle up and find the same colors and tap into them with your new wires. MAKE SURE YOU DISCONNECT THE FACTORY AMP IN THE TRUNK!!! This should be simple enough to do. Let me know if you have any ?s

What if the car didn't come with a factory amp. I don't have the BOSE system.

I guess you still will have to look for the wires. If they come in from one end then they have to some out from the other.

Are all the 2k2 speaker wires in the front aand rear doors run to the rear of the car?? to taht bose amplifier under the rear deck??

So can i just wire my amps to the output side of the bose amp (of course disconnecting the bose amp)..

Heres a piece of advice. Mount your crossovers inside your door panels.

Connect the factory wire to the input of your cross over and then run the wires from your tweeters and woofers from the crossover within the doors... It makes it much easier that way.

Oh really?? I don't even know where the tweeter is on my 2k2 .. but on the 99 SE its on the door, and my friends 96 SE was on the pillar..

I think Nissan is confused on where the best place to mount the tweeters are..

What about under the dash board??

Here is the problem/s I am encountering. I installed a woofer and since I don't have an adapter to connect to the stock plug for the speaker I figure I would run a seperate wire from the woofer and into the cabin. Well since there is a rubber boot in which one end connects to the door and the other to the body of the car
I figure i could run the wires through the inside of the boot. WEll problem is nissan put a multi-pin connector on the end of the boot that attaches to the body of the car. So I am looking for suggestions on another way to run speaker wire from the speaker to the crossover which won't be in the door, since it is not recommended I do so. And another thing I am looking for is ideas on where to mount the crossovers. I don't want to mount it all the way to the trunk but I will consider it if I don't come up an alternatice location for them. I was also wondering if the stock tweeters were connected to stcok crossovers. Or are they connected to the head unit or maybe the stock speakers and tweeters share teh same speaker wire by some means. Thanks to all for their input.

yeah, I beleive they all run to the amp in the rear. you can do that if you don't care using factory wiring. I've done it in my previous car. As far as mounting crossovers in doors there is one problem: you will still have to run a wire from the door to the tweeter (if the tweeter is outside the door, I put my tweets in the factory location).

I mounted the crossovers for my reference MB quarts in the door yo! The fit is really tight I custom made a bracket that I can screw into so the crossover is free standing and taking up the least amount of room possible right underneath the tracks for the window at the very bottom. As for the wires, my suggestion is to cut and splice the stock wires at both ends inside the door and outside the door and then use your aftermarket wires. That is the least painful way to do it unless you want to drill a hole and run wire through the door which might show too. Hope this helps

My installer mounted Boston pro series crossovers for the front stage inside each front door and tapped into the connector to route the proper signals to the tweeters in the A pillar. Good luck!
