I remember the first time I ever wanted a system. One of my friends had a old S-10 Blazer with 2 Pioneer 12s and a Jensen amp. I thought it was so awesome and wanted a system even before I got a car. Now that I've got one, I wish I could get more stuff so I could have more experience in installation. I wouldn't mind being able to do custom stuff, but thats a little outta my league.
I think my love of good music got me into car audio. I used to love listening to music at home and on headphones as a kid. Then started noticing how many people there were to complain when you wanted to turn it up. But in the car, if it's your car they can't complain.
Just hearing music on a car stereo system that can really crank got me into car audio

It's the the love of music for me too. It's a portable surround soundstage. Out on the road, just you and the music. Oh, and the cruddy sound of my old '86 made me want better. From there I just taught myself and got more interested and involved as I went along. I'm ashamed to think about how little I knew b4 and I only know so much now.
in some cases the volume and beat is a direct ratio of my speed and sometimes driving style
.
basically just wanting my music to sound better and a severe case of modding.

I am not yet "into" it. But will be soon
I listen to music about 99% of the time I am in the car.. In my old car, I had BOSE which sounded okay, this car has a terrible stereo (non-BOSE) and after hearing a few of my friends systems which are not even some of the better stuff that I'm planning on getting, I decided I want to get this. You hear music in a whole new way.

yeah tell me about it. its really wierd listening to music in my car then going home, the sounds that you know are theyre in your car, arent there all of a sudden. its funny actually because friends of mine have asked "what song is this?" and i'll tell them and theyre like "are you sure its not a remix" or "did you mess with it?" or the popular "no way... it sounded like it but it had to much other stuff". its also funny because the next day or two they're asking me about systems and just waiting for the time to ask if ill help them install.

What got me into it....my car is a 1988 Maxima GXE. I figured, there's no affordable way in hell I can make this old thing with 180,000 miles on it that can't even go for a continuous 200 miles go fast. So I was like hey, if I can't have speed, I'll just have sound and looks. So I started off with Polk Audio speakers for the front, ****ty Pioneers in the rear because I put two 12" Kenwood subs back there with an amp, got a new head unit and got reverse indiglo gauges to match the unit, and some lights inside the car to match the had unit and gauges also. Done, wahoo.
