What is the resistor on the amp for?
When I first bought my Sound Stream amp it had a resistor on it. Can't remember if it was on teh power and ground channels but I was wondering what it was for and since I haven't had my amp installed in a long time should i put one on and what value resistor should I put? Thanks.
could have been some sort of noise filter if it was on the power side of the ampifier...or..if it came out of some old car..it could be to regulate voltage to 12.2 or 14.4 volts or something i remember a old mustang in our shop had a voltage of 16.8V when the car was on. That killled most of the audio components

could be!..if that amplifier has a built in capacitor..or a bank of them..that resisistor can be used to "charge" it..otherwise you will get a spark like you do with a normal large 1 farad capacitor. I know soundstream amps had capacitor banks built in at some point..
