Inside neons

i have searched but i still really dont get how to do it, i want to hook up four of my neons that are under dash and seats so they come on at night-inorder to do that i would wire them to the lighter on the parking lights, but i read that u can also hook them up so they come on when u open the door, so i want to wire them like that both-so they come on at night and come on when doors open and also to a switch so i can turn it off. is it possible?? what all i have to do?? replace wires? i have no idea about this stuff, it is totally new to me. so maybe more detail please?? thanks a whole lot.

Just hook it up to the step light on each door. Neons don't require much power, so it will be safe to hook them up to the step lights without shortening the circuit.

if you want to wire them to you door trigger you would....run one wire to hook up to your normal on and off switch..then run another wire paralell to that.. attached to relay that is REVERSE POLARITY..which means when you open the door..and your door triger wire in the car will show a negative..have the relay turn on...turning on your neon..at the same time..you have a switch to turn them on and off.

Well, damn. I was gonna do this but I did not think that anyone else had yet. Do you guys know who has done it? I guess that will save me sometime in researching.

I have done it before, and didn't experience any problems. But, when I built my "plexi-glass" see-thru windows on my sub box, I had removed the neons and mounted them in my box.
