Looking for High Output Alternator

Has anyone run across a website that has'em for a '96 GLE, or know someone who has a High Output Alternator?

check www.ampmanaudio.com ... they have 215 amp cold (at idle), 185 hot (also at idle) alternators from ohio generator for a decent price. iirc, ohio generator is the alt brand run by more winning competitors than any other brand.

Yes, ampman has them. But not the outputs that are quoted above. Trust me, I have one. Even OG doesn't say that they put out 185 at idle. More like 60-80 at idle. They can make one that will but out full power higher than 185 amps at idle. But not for a daily driver. Call OG at 330-875-6677 and talk to Tom or Gus.

Before you spend $500 or more on an alt do two things. Design and finance a system that has over 2500 watts. And find someone who can help you with the custom install. Someone competant who will gaurantee their work. Your factory 110 amp alt is fine for at least 2500 watts. People keep forgetting that maximum power is only attained in the SPL lanes. A HO alt is a waste of money except as a crutch for SPL competitors who don't have a decent 120 volt A/C - D/C converter.
