JBL vs CADENCE amps which brand ..

Which one would you guys get if you had to choose from these two brands JBL 300.1 or Cadence 300watt amp. I like the prices very much. Not too many has heard of Cadence, but people who do know them seem to like it, wherelse, JBL is a big brand but seems like some dont like the performance too much.. IMO would be helpfull before I bust out $150~200 Thanks guys

well, i can tell you that i was looking at the same 2 brands for amps for my Project Ranger SPL comp vehicle...the jbls are damn solid, but the cadences are good too. it just happened that the cadence amps fit my needs better. so the question is, what do you need from an amp (sq, ***** to the wall spl,...?), and what subs are you gonna run?

I'll be hooking either one of them to JL-12W3 sub. 12W3 is at 250watts, and those two amps does the job at 300watts. Which one do you think will cut it?

I just got my jbl bp1200.1 amp, and that thing is amazing. I'm sure the 300.1 won't disappoint you.

if you look at the bottom plate of your w3, it should tell you 12w3 d- something. that number is important for us to know, b/c its the impedance. if its a d2, or d4, you should be good with a 600.1 (yeah i know what that puts out), or a slightly larger cadence than the one youre looking at. if it says d6, you would be okay, but you wouldnt have as much power as the d2 or d4 models. i have a 12w3 ive fed over 700 watts plus marginal amounts of bass boost, and i never had a problem. just set your gains correctly, and keep bass boost to a VERY MINIMUM, and you should be golden.

just wondering, wouldnt feeding lotta watts(meaning hooking it up with a mucho wattage amp to 250watt sub) to a sub itself is bad for sub? It may sound fine for a year or so, but I'm thinking the damage might build up, eventually damaging the sub.

And you suggest I get a higher wattage amp then 300 afterall right?
Assuming I get a d2, d4 sub. In that case, I guess I should check out jbl 600.1 which also has a good price, but Just wanna check if it is safe to do so. If not, I'll save some extra cash and go with 300watts

jl rates as "worst case scenario", or in more specific terms, they run X amount of power to it ruthlessly for 24 hrs straight. they start at 1 watt, and continue until the driver gives out. i had a graph from jl, and it showed how much power it was safe to run for all their drivers. iirc, they were listing them as being okay up to around 2.5-3x the rated rms power. keep in mind that if you put that much wattage on, you just have to be careful with the gains...if you do that, and keep bass boost to a minimum, you should never have a driver give out on you.
