Need help with subwoofer wiring

I have a 1999 automatic maxima and I can't for the life of me figure out how to access the engine compartment from inside the car so I can run my power wire from my amp (under the driver's seat) to the battery in the engine. Any help would be welcome.

Ok...jack the car up and remove the front left wheel..remove the plastic fender cover thing..just run the power amp wire through one of the holes behind the left strut tower into the inside of the fender, i ran my wire through the wire grommet of the door harness. then it leads to right under the fuse box under the dash..no cutting whatsoever..then from there run it to the back. i will post pics tonight

Actually, I am just a DemiGOD, so I know I can drill a hole through the firewall, but not any alternate methods.

ok, i got the plastic panel off, now i cant get to the car itself cuz there is some wierd rubber conforming to the wires that are already going in there. I was wondering if there was a way to squeeze my power wire in with those wires or something...

Re: Need help with subwoofer wiring

after you guys get the wire inside the car, if i need to run the wire all the way to trunk...should i just run it under all the carpeting? or is there better way?

Yep pull up your door sills, and the the carpet comes up pretty easy, make sure you isolate your power wire from the rest...

if you have limited space in your trunk you can mount your amp under one of the front seats then its just wires that are running to the back..saves alot of space!

BUT you need to make sure your amps can "breathe".

No you are right it is not airtight, but regardless. Depending on the amp and when it is reaching its peak power. Also if it is being played continuously it will tend to heat up. If the amp has a built in fan it should be fine, if not it MAY overheat. I am not saying it will, but that is can. Amps do need proper ventilation.

before drilling, you may consider what i said though, it will save time and depending where you drill, look better.
go through the hood release hole, its pretty big.

also the best way to get around amp breathing or overheating problems is to have a degree in AMD Overclocking, preferably be in the 400mhz + FSB club
later guys
