Where to pick up turn-on lead for amp?

Where can I pick up a turn-on lead to turn on an amp? I would rather have one that is on only with the HU, but will take any 12V switched, if i have to. How do the BOSE amps know to turn on? Are they on any time the car is on? If I can use the BOSE turn-on lead, which is it on the REAR speakers?

Thanks!

Its the RED wire from the bunch of 4 wires going to the amp below the speaker.. splice that one and run to amp..

Non-bose i have no idea... There is no seperate 2 amps in the trunk for Non-Bost systems.. looks like your gonna have to splice the ACC or Ignition wire and run to the trunk, or get it from the fuse box..

I do Car Audio for a living and the best turn on lead is from the head unit or splice into the radio fuse at the fuse block. If you go to the igg you may get noise through your stereo.

Assuming you have a Manual Transmission, the plastic ring that houses the boot for your gear shift simply pops up and out. Look closely at the bottom of the housing, and you will see that the boot can easily pop out of its bracket.

Take out the ashtray/felt pocket and you will see a single screw which needs to be removed. Use a magnetic screwdriver if possible.

There will be Two screws that hold the Radio/AC module in place right under and behind where the ashtray was. You will need to remove these screws.

Here's the scary part. You have to gently, but firmly lift up on the bottom of the Radio/AC module, pulling it outward toward you so that it pops the top AC vent assembly loose. Don't lift it too far out, but just enough to loosen the Air Vent. There's really nothing to break (I hate to say that), but be careful, none the less.

Once the airvent is out (it has no screws) you will see two more screws, which, when removed, will allow the entire Radio/AC assembly to come out.

From there, just be careful not to scratch your dash by placing towels all around, and unplug your cables from the AC and Radio components.

Good Luck, let me know if this helps...

use a switched source(ignition) from behind the radio. NEVER use an amp turn on from your bose amp, you will fry it out!!

I doubt you would fry it, the amp remote lead only looks at the voltage, it doesnt draw from it in any significant way..
