Im hooking up my amp, and not sure if im doing it correctly. Should the power light come on when I screw in the line from the battery only, or will it come on only when I have it all hooked up?

 

The amp will turn on/off according to the activity on the remote wire connected to the amp. If you have this connected to the remote on your deck like most people, this means your amp will be on/off when your deck is on/off.

Connect ground/power/remote and the speaker(s) and then test.
