Alternator gone what to do read plz

Alternator gone what to do read plz

Ok sittin in traffic for about an hour system on and and neons on get out of the mess and then **** starts happening...is this spose to happen is everything drawing that much...what precautions can i take or how can i stop this from happeing i was thinkin of aftermarket alt,yellow top battery and cap for system any otherinfo thanks

Proper wiring is the most important item. Starting with good grounds and good connections. After wiring everything right a cap can save the alt some headaches. A bigger battery is simply a strain on the electrical supply, in the car that means the alternator. Unless you sit with the engine off listening to music the stock battery should be fine. A single bad ground can kill an alternator. Any ground in the car, from a dome light or other accessory to the battery ground.

How much current does your stereo draw - what is the fuse rating on all amps combined? How are the lights wired and how much current do they draw?

who wired the system for u?...well having a cap will definitely help...it'll help with lights dimmin also

There is a recall on all 97 maximas alternators. Do a search or check the general forum
