That is most likely the reason, you will want to check the solder joints on the AMP as usually as in the case with mine they have broke but the splits are hard to see.

I haven't measured mine myself (yet), but according to Crutchfiled the rears are 6-3/4".

6.5's can fit in the rear w/no problem but the Bose stockers are 5.25's

I guess that was Nissans way of saving a few bucks by making rears smaller

still gott'em if ya want'em bro
