There is no excuse for you California (even Nevada) maxima owners that have never ran big track b4, NOT to come to this awesome event.

there will be over 7 maximas racing, along with 10 or so watching from the sidelines.

learn HOW to drive and learn how your maxima handles in emergency situations: become a better driver.

i cant emphasis enough that these events are safe, and actually provide great driving tips that will save you in an event an accident might occur infront of you on regular streets...

PS: Just to reinforce what Chebosto said: these are not "crazy, out-of-control novice racing events" where the Nascar saying "Rubbin' is Racin'" applies. So, if your initial reaction is: "no way am I going to risk my car in something like that!", don't start off with the wrong idea of what this is all about.

In fact, many insurance companies (the most conservative, puckered-a$$, risk-management industry on the planet!) endorse High-Performance Driving Events (like this one, put on by NASA) as being not only safe, but proven to increase a driver's ability to maintain control of his/her vehicle under both normal and emergency conditions on the street.

Some will even offer a discounted insurance $premium$ for completing such courses or "track days" - Be sure to ask your insurance agent! (Don't call it "racing" when you do, though - it's a "driver training event" as far as they're concerned). Key distinction here: your laps are not being "timed."*

*(You can easily have a buddy at the Start/Finish line time your laps on his watch/stopwatch though, so you can track your progress).
