Got Caster?

Got Caster?
Ok, continuing or lessons on alignments...
Here's one idea to adjust camber. Offset Control Arm Bushings
Grassroots Motorsports March 2003 issue just came out with a couple great suspension articles. Pgs 115-126 on their Mustang has lots of good stuff on roll centers and bushings. Pg 123 says
"More caster is also the prime mission of the offset control arm bushings installed in the body side of the lower control arms. In addition to providing a much better pivot and less deflection than the stock rubber bushings, these polyurethane pieces move the control arms forward, resulting in increased available caster. Using the plates and bushings increased our caster from slightly more than 1 degree to about 4.7 degrees"
Ok, so maybe the Stillen plates don't have caster adjustment but ES already has poly replacements for our OEM bushings. Time to make a phone call...
Also, pg 50 in same issue. They discuss Dave Avard and Will Kalman's setups. David uses caster of between 4-5 deg on his Protege, and Will says his setting is maxed out.

[B]Did the GRM article break down the caster gain into how much was achieved with the bushings vs how much from the C-C plates? And since it's a Mustang they were working with, was an aftermarket K-member involved. IIRC, some aftermarket K's relocate the control arms forward as part of their design regardless of the bushings used.
Note to people intending to compete in Stock - offset bushings are class-legal in SP, STS, STX, and higher-prep classes only. Sorry.
Bejay - does it look possible to mod the Stillen plates to provide for some caster adjustment?
