Best local auto-x finish yet

This weekend kicked off Chicago's autocrossing season with a 2-day learning school. We run this every year and it's always a big hit especially with the import crowd. No other Maxes showed but a couple '02 SE-R V's and G35's showed their stuff.

We maxed out the entries weeks before the event and ended up with 80 new students with <1 year experience autocrossing. After the students finish running, the instructors and helpers get a chance in their own cars.

I took 7th out of 147 on index
I admit cold 37deg weather helped the street tire classes considerably since race rubber was virtually useless out there.

Anybody who follows SCCA will recognize many of the top instructors as past national level trophy winners (not me). This is not easy competition.
Oh, did I mention I'm detuned about 15-25hp right now

- Nice work! Its the wrath of the Max, man. No one ever suspects the family sedan.

- What's with the lack of power, though?

Sorry, meant the Nissan OEM ECU. Lost about 5hp/10tq over the G-force from last year. The idea was to drop the power, drive better to overcome it, and then add the power back in for larger courses if needed.

P.S. 1st official event finished yesterday. Overall did fine 16th of 147 but got butt kicked in STS.
Tight technical course with 15 slalom cones and other tough transitions.
SCCA Chicago Event #1

Did I mention 34deg with a 22mph wind?

Nice job you placed ahead of Brad lamont. I see he did get the new BMW M3. So does that mean Sani's car is done. I heard rumor that he was going to run brads M3 if he got it.

Brad's ride is beautiful. Haven't talked to Jason since before his delivery for WorldChallenge. Now that P.R.O. series is cancelled maybe Jason will be around more and winning Euro's insted of Yen.
Update - Jason down at the Houston tour kicking butt.

No, he ran car courier service for Bob Endicott's RSX for King Motorsports down to FL. It saw 2hrs of tracktime before getting tangled with an M3. Then it came right back to Milwaukee. Incidently, the graphics on the RSX were done by the same guy who created my maxima.org magnetics.

Speaking of magnetics. SleeperSE has a source for some nice numbers.
