FYI-Hankook Ventus R-S2 good deal..
Just wanted to let you guys know, since several people had mentioned this tire, that the best price out there (to my knowledge after alot of searching) is at www.edgeracing.com...
for 225/45/17 my shipped total was $430 (99/tire), and I've ordered from these guys before - they are quick delivering.
The guy also told me that they have a ton of them in stock because they just got a BIG shipment of them, since someone had mentioned that alot of people were sold out.
anyhow..direct link:

Just an update...the tires arrived today...2 days faster than expected...4 days from order date, with regular shipping (DHL via Airborne Express)....Edge Racing is really a great place to do business with...both of my orders have now arrived AHEAD of schedule!

I have some hankook ventus tires on my car, i think they are a different tread pattern, but they are awesome. They look really good, and they a very good during cornering and hook up well all around. I recommend them.

auto-x'ed them a couple weeks ago. On a short course (see my other thread) I ran about 39psi front 36psi rear (cold) or thereabouts. Overall, they performed very good. Little to no squealing, they grip like crazy, and they did not feel nearly as soft as I expected....in fact I only managed to plow the front once, and that was due to a mistake on my part.....In terms of wear...tough to tell after 6 runs on a roughly 1/2 mile course, but my fronts got torn up a little bit (around the edges of tread blocks).....but did'nt seem too bad. Braking and accelleration grip was excellent as well...my only complaint is that they are fairly loud for regular driving (drove home with them on, too lazy to put my street wheels back on!).....
SO, overall, I give them a high rating, especially considering how inexpensive they are. For road course racing, can't tell ya - the verdict might be the same, or might be different.

Im really happy with the Toyo T1-S's - that I got from edgeracing as well...
They grip as good (maybe even better) than the Bridgestone S-03s that I had been using before. They are, however, untested in rain.
one of the best things about the T1-S is that they are light, light, light- just ask Ceasar.
Also edgeracing is awesome in that they actually have the tire weights on the website, a rarity.
Sounds like you got a good deal for autocross tires tho, good job!

we need some of that open land you guys in the midwest have!
