upgrading / changing FRONT sway bar?????
upgrading / changing FRONT sway bar?????
Anybody do this? Should I??? Whats the deal? If its a good idea, where would I get one!??
I know that for autocross, its not desirable for turn in- BEJAY, Im thinking of your comment that you are running fastest with it disconnected. However, for high-speed turns would it be a positive?
Basically, anyone got feedback on this? Thanks-

Sounds pretty good- Im on eibach springs so low enough I should think. When you say stiffen the bar you mean buy a larger diameter bar, is that correct? I appreciate your advice.
Oh, and on the off chance, do you know the stock size of the bar?

well more front bar is going to increase understeer...... I would be game if someone made a adjustable set for the Max..... I have never seen a front bar listed for the Max .. however if the adjustable rear bar is stiff enough to compensate for a larger front bar.. it would be useful to control body roll on the front end ....
For track speeds it's probably a good idea to keep it or beef it up. Decreasing front roll resistancne is roughly equiv to increasing rear roll resistance ie. (adding a huge rear bar which might provoke oversteer conditions). IIRCboth the Stillen PPG car and the Motorola Cup cars kept their stock FSB's.
If you do go with a larger bar I'd do a buyin on a smaller one at the same time to test. Try calling Saner for latest pricing.

ummm....why bother with a larger FSB? Get one of these instead:

didn't say I 'feel special," I was just suggesting it as an alternative, smart guy.
I'm well aware of how the front suspension works. But if you had ever used a LTB, you would realize that it has much the same effect of a stiffer sway bar in terms of flattening out the front end (reducing body lean) and tightening up the front of the car. Obviously, it is not exactly the same in terms of the mechanical and torsional effect on the suspension as a whole, but if the thread author's goal is to flatten out the front end/reduce lean, then a LTB would have the desired effect
but you're so smart, I guess you already knew that.
...and I'll save you the flaming that you have some "tuner" work on your car instead of doing it yourself.
