rear sway bar

What does a rear sway bar actually do? I understand how it works and that it decreases body roll but these are the things I don't understand:

1. Will it decrease or increase understeer?

2. How will it affect maxima's .85 gs?

3. Is combination of FWD and oversteer safe?

1. RSB creates oversteer (reduces understeer)

2. debatable....depends on the rest of the setup

3. to a point, though a balanced setup or slight understeer is generally considered to be the safest setup...

It'll depend on the condition of your car. Is your suspension stock as in never ben changed or you have new stuff in stock configuration (not lowered)?
I think you should make sure the rest of your suspension is in order first, to gain the FULL advantage of the stuff you want to get. Are you on original shocks? All the bracing in the world won't help you if you can't keep the tire on the road. If you haven't changed or upgraded anything else yet, I would recommend doing that first, then get the stuff you want.

Everything is stock, however, I am sure that the shocks and the springs are good. I know that the best thing to do is to lower the car first, but I, simply, can't afford spending a grand on the set of quality shocks and springs. So, I think I'll just stick with what I was going to get.

If you guys have any idea how the car will behave, please post your thoughts.

You could always try to get used parts off the 5th Gen Classifieds forum... got my RSB there for $100, Illuminas for $300, and springs for $100.

Posted a link to my thoughts in your thread in the 5th Gen forum...
