Thought You Guys Might Be Interested

First - I'm posting this only as an FYI for those interested - not as some kind of attempt to "one-up" the org (the org will always be the #1 forum for maximas)...while the org is a "all-aspect" forum, this one is more focused just on the racing and not on "what body kit is better" or "where can I get some strobes for my headlights" (at least, I hope it will stay that way).

So, drop by if you want. And if you feel it's silly to have another maxima forum, then don't drop by...it's a free country Just thought some of you might be interested

Maxima Racing forums

Note specificallythe autocross/road racing forum...

Though it's initially going to be pretty repetitive of this autocross forum (alot of the same links, etc) , it's just another place to chit chat about things. Since alot of people don't see the org autocross section buried down here, maybe it will get more play over there...

my goal there is to try to "convert" some of the drag strip guys away from the "dark side" and into the "light" (i.e. racing with curves)

Since I was apparently the first person to actually post in the autocross forum, they asked me to moderate it (not that autocross forums really need moderation ever)....in any case, stop by and say "hi" at some point.

So how stictly you are going to enforce things? Being a confirmed DC forum post ***** yourself, I figure the rules are going to be loose.

who's a post *****?

no, I doubt much enforcing (if any) will be needed.....unless the DCMAX crew shows up, that is....

Good, because my wife is just plain terrible at shooting video...(that, and she won't be there anyways and all the maximas are running in the same group)...

Is that saying you're not running? I just bought a camera mount and I know Irish has one, so I am not discouraging this unless you:
1. aren't going to run
2. aren't going to ride along with someone a few times

Joel has ridden with me at other events, but he doesn't have the tires to run his car at the moment at the track. I think he's planning of setting it up for next season though. Joel takes good outside photos though.

I have 2 vid cameras - 1 for inside the car and 1 for outside the car....

Like Josh said... I've been to other events and ridden with him. I definitely want to run and get the urge every time I'm out there, but I'd rather wait till I have some extra tires to tear up and maybe more suspension upgrades as well.

You mean like you have winter tires on your car or something? I do not have super sticky tires on my car either. They're Kumho's, which means they don't get torn up very quickly and they especially don't over heat, they aren't summer tires either.
Tires are cheap, it's the extra set of rims and coilovers that I can't afford right now (and can't justify it to the wife either since ski season is coming soon..hopefully).
