4-Maxima autocross - Results/Pics (56k beware)

This weekend 4 Maximas (+2 local Miatas) headed up to the Autocrosser’s Inc. event (180 cars) at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen MD (a favorite local lot). The Maximas all ran in DSP and here were the results:

DSP Best time
1. Philip Emad, ugly teal civic hatch 45.983
2. Rani Emad, same civic 46.976
3. Josh Hickey, 2000 Maxima 50.232
4. Gabe Dunn, 1993 Maxima 50.887
5. George Bauer, 2002 Maxima 53.235
6. Darius Mirsaidi, 1998 Maxima (Novice class) 55.772

The Sentra SE-R originally registered for DSP actually ran in DSP PRO class with a 47.743 time. Nice of him to run pro class, which bumped me to third (TIRE MONEY!!! Woot!)…..

Cutler in the super-pro spec miata put up a respectable best of 51.213 good for 2nd in D Prepared class….lost to the other Red miata who came with us (49.542)

The teal civic wins pretty much every event’s DSP class here in the mid-atlantic. It’s THAT fast and the drivers are both very good….

Overall, a good event, apart from the couple of wrecked cars (see http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....)….Happy with my setup, running –2 degrees negative camber with the 2-day-old Eibachs (me likey)

Darth Cutler (photo taken by me)

I freaking love this OG-Racing MCoupe
. He also won his class, so he's fast too...

Darius and me in the grid

The money-shot

The two cars that won our class and beat all of the maximas soundly.actually ran DSP Pro class so he doesn’t count (haha), and the teal #55 civic way in the background finished 1st and 2nd (2 different drivers)

The fastest Miata out there, IIRC

George says ‘damn, why isn’t my maxima as fast as those two black ones?

The 4 Maxes

My favorite car in attendance

Hyundai Elantra with a MONSTER turbo....this car had serious power, and was hilarious to watch.

The caravan...2 red miatas, 2 black maximas (support vehicles?)

Good finish Josh and nice pics too.

Who's 3rd gen is that? I remember when he came to my old job to have his tires mounted on those Explorer wheels.

^^^ Know what you mean, when I go with a buddy with his '96 we always get some attention. Last time the announcer could NOT stop saying "....and the 4-D-S-C......" Always interesting.

I pretty much browbeat the local maxima drivers to go to these events....At first they're scared to run, worried about hurting their cars, etc....then once they finally run at an event, they want to go to all of them. I'd say in the DC area alone, about 10-12 different guys have run their maximas at events in the last year.

Wasn't it me that got you to get out of racing in that 7-11 parking lot and come up to Ripken?

maybe.

but you don't count, since you've been a no-show to the last 2 at Ripken

I'm a little late here, but in my defense, my engine is shot. I can't rev over 5k even in neutral and I'm only pushing about 125-150 whp. Butt-dyno verified! Besides, I can't drive....
