Auto X College Station #3
Auto X College Station #3
Ok so this time between me and my friend we had no dnf's, and I only picked up one cone. Much improved, I would like to give a special thanks to walking the course and working before I ran. This time I ran the the factory 5 spokes in the rear with some 205 60 16's that I stole off a civic at work. Up front some 18's with 245 45 or 40 run flat dunlops, I got 74 dollars invested in wheels and tires up front woot. I found that the run flats where most tires fatigue with heat these seem to welcome it and get better. To bad for the last few runs my 205's out back broke loose a few times and weren't consistent in the turns. I was kind of hoping for this until I realized a front wheel drive with oversteer isn't so glamorous, I couldn't really seem to correct it when they broke loose like I thought I could. Anyways I ll try to post some results and what not and add my pics and video sometime later this week.
The real treat is another 4th gen 5spd se showed up only to be destroyed, I don't think she knew what hit her. But I will call it a draw because she was rockin black on black with leather interior. You try tellin the guys at registration your car is ruby pearl, its not as good as sayin "murdered out max".

Oh also if anyone can explain to me how the scoring works that would be great. Seems like some people ranked lower than me still had better times wtf, idk.
Oh and I am on the novice part of the list by the way, GS.

Scoring in Novice group is based on a PAX score...
They multiply your time by a PAX index which attempts to relate cars of one class to another, so that you can attempt to determine who is the better driver.
i.e. an A modified car has a Pax of 1.00.. it's the fastest class out there.
Let's say an A Mod car has a 100 second run. mnultiply that by 1.00 for a 100 sec PAX time.
H Stock has a pax of (grabbing a number.. don't know true PAX) 0.675.
A driver in an H Stock makes a 140 second run... obviously a much slower car..
multiply that 140 sec by .675 for a PAX time of 94.5 seconds.
The A Mod car had a faster raw time, but based on the PAX time, the H Stock driver was better..
They do that in the X and Novice classes so drivers among different car classes can compare their times and brag about who is the better driver, even though they may be driving a '95 Geo Storm vs. a brand new Z06 Vette.
