What a wrong approach. Notice all the skidmarks of cars flying off on the exact same spot.

damn :-( me personally. instead of holding wheel to counter the spin, after realizing it's only throwing you in a curved angle. I would have tried to completely spin the car to try to slow it down. but maybe when ur in the situation, oyou dont think about that. just the money flowing through ur mind and everything you did wrong on the turn.

It's all about experience and reflexes.

If you don't have the experience to catch a mistake early enough, you'll wreck. If you are trying to bring a car under control before hitting a wall, you need to make a perfect set of reactions. There is no way to "think" your way through that kind of stuff in time. When the back end gets loose you need to make the correct countersteer and take it back it at just the right time or else you'll get crossed up like he did.

The camaro guy is funny. But it's an important lesson: never try to "catch" a car if you're going off into a clearing. Let it go. It's only grass and dirt. Because if you don't catch it right you can miss the clearing and hit a wall.

Experience is the most important factor here. When on track your mind is so focused on what you're doing that you can find yourself in a panic very quickly. Staying relaxed is the key. The more track events i do, the calmer i find myself. The more experience you have, the calmer you stay, the more actual fun you have behind the wheel on track. You can stress very easily, and it can have harmful effects if you aren't careful.

i had a close call when my rear sweeped out behind me at willow springs, but i caught it instantly, counter steered and let off the throttle simultaneously to be able to recover. There was no time to think. it was reflexes.

The high speeds the R8 was up to makes small errors become fatal ones, i m sure i wasnt going as fast as he was. The level of engineering a car has should require a certain level of driving expertise or practice, I'm sure he was more than surprised when he broke loose and slid as far as he did.. GOD DAMMITTT!!!

A supercar is supposed to hold high speeds and G forces, even when the driver cant...

A rich person supercar, maybe, but not a real supercar. Real supercars require super drivers. Otherwise it's just expensive ego machinery.

Supercars require qualified drivers.
Just cause you may be licensed to fly a Cessna doesn't mean you're qualified to hop into the cockpit of an F-18.

the mistake there was caused by too abrupt of a transition on/off throttle as well as poor steering input. things like that don't matter what car you're driving- even supercars still have to obey the laws of physics. If you give bad steering input and let off the throttle at the same time, you're going to make the rear end loose and spin the car- traction/stability control won't save you in that case, especially if you're already sideways with two wheels in the grass.

I've been in that situation and it moves that slow. I've been spinning in a situation like that 3 times in my life, with the hit at the end 1 of those times the other 2 I got lucky, all at about 70-100mph. And you have a lot of time to talk and look around while the car is spinning.

I also was in a corvette that lost it and did a 360 and bounced off a curb at relativly slow speeds, like 45-50 but didnt even comprehend what was goin on till it was pretty much over.

You would also think he'd have taken hint from the viper in front of him braking much harder into that turn.
