I personally think the way to go with the maxima is to put on a FSTB and RSB and run it in the STS class. (Street Touring, Street Tires no wider than 225) You will have more power than anyone else in the class (it's limited to 3.1 liters, N/A) and with the handling mods you should have a car capable of winning the class.

Your only problem is going to be the fact that you're going to be racing guys that have been autocrossing for years and they're gonna tear you up for awhile. Autocross, as anyone that's done it will tell you, is all about the driver. You just need to get some "seat time". In my opinion and experience, the maxima is a damn good autocrosser, and I always surprise a lot of people when I go out there.

How limited are you to suspension modification in the STS class? Is there a limitation on Output performance(ie. Engine Mods) in this class?

For suspension, you can do just about anything available for the maxima....struts/springs, Strut tower braces, and sway bar. There are some limitations on engine mods, but I know that an intake, exhaust, and y-pipe are ok. Check www.scca.org for the rules.
