Dealership and Vendor Experiences Let other Maxima owners, or potential Maxima owners, which dealerships and shops you've had good or bad luck with.

I think I've just been ripped off

Deja vu... took him months to send me payments.. weeks to reply to messages... I guess Ed's not into the resale business cuz the company would go down under in a week

Yeah, my bet (sorry) is that he'll see the money sometime around my father's birthday (November 22nd, mark your calendar's people - he's a Maxima owner too and one of the oldest aged ones at it prolly too hehe).

Sorry to be sarcastic but I'm still bitter.

George,

I don't think I'll be able to do anything until I get the cash back from Ed, which hopefully is this Thursday. I'll let you know then.

I just don't understand why he couldn't send the refund today or tomorrow. I hope you get it but if you don't definetly report this. And for future reference don't use a money order, you can not stop a money order in most cases. Your best bet is PayPal or like someone said escrow.
Good Luck,
Paul

Contrarily,

I was told the following about Postal Money ORders which make them a good thing to use.

First it can be tracked anywhere, who cashed it and where it was cashed.

Second, wrongfully using the US postal service to contract for services, such as making a transaction and not completing it, is classified as Federal Mail Fraud according to the USPIS Mail Fraud Web page

On top of this I've gotten contacted by three other people that have had bad dealings with Ed.

Hopefully it doesn't get to this point and I get the Money back on Thursday. I will keep my fingers crossed.

I'm really ****ed off I didn't make a huge rant about the guy before, but there's always excuses with Ed.

After waiting 60 days for a refund, the guy even sent me a Paypal payment, which was somehow magically "cancelled" once transferred to my account via echeque (takes a few days to clear).

The guy always asks for an overnighted payment to make things "next day", once it's there, he delays shipping (I ended up asking for a refund after a week of waiting since I was in Canada/item was a radar detector)... so he ignores a set of PM's/emails until you get a little cold with him, then stalls (first he needed a week to get to his computer to Paypal me at one point - he was "out of town" yet still able to come to chat on the forums), then Paypal doesn't work once he's back at "his computer" to login to the site and send payment... then the cheque he sends doesn't make it to my door after three weeks, then the Paypal payment he sends gets cancelled... he seems to handle people well - maybe he has good customer service experience working for smooth operator companies.. or maybe it's his law studies... who knows.

Good luck - the more bad stuff we put here, hopefully the better guarantee he'll send you your cash back

LATEST UPDATE:

The money I sent to him that was deposited in his account has alreaddy been used up. He will be getting his Grandmother from St. Lous to send me the
Money overnight. He even offered to refund me the charge for the overnight postal fees. He sounds like he's doing the right thing, but I will find out
tommorow whether or not he is a man of his word.

Makes me wonder where those three guys who were protecting him are. Why did they stop posting all of a sudden.

All the best for getting your money back Kevin.

BLAM! You hit the nail right on the head! I always thought he was a kid who's having financial issues (especially after he stalled me out for so many months) and now you just confirmed it!

The sad thing is, he's done this to two clubs, and hasn't learned from his mistakes but is doing this time and again.

I believe someone said he seems to reek of money - well I guess we know why he reeks of it now

Kevin, I'm sorry but I don't think he will be sending you your money from the way he is handling the situation. I remember I had an unhappy customer once (sent him the wrong rims). I mailed him a cashier's check for full amount which he had less than 24 hours after our initial conversation. He was in Florida and I'm in California. If he was going to handle it, it would have been already done.

Yeah, what's up with Hogan (Yo-its-ok)? He also owes about $2k to a member out here on the West Coast. This has been going on for the past 6 months or so. That's waaaay to long!!! If he were a legit or honest business person this ordeal should have been resolved already. Just SUCKS to know that there are people like this around. And to find out that there is another member who has gotten ripped off by him again just makes things alot worst.

You guys should start a new thread warning people about Hogan/ChimpDJ!!!!!

Hehe, I'd usually agree but as someone who has gotten f'd around with by Ed, I'll tell you this much : he'll send you the money, only it will take him several attempts to get it done right. He seems challenged

I don't think Hogan visits the .org anymore. One of the moderators ran him off thank god.

My guess is that he's in jail. If you look at his posts in the NE forum, he talks a lot about his probation officer or the DA or dealing with the police.

He reminds me of one of those guys that is ****ed off at the world and doesn't care who he hurts to get what he thinks the world "owes" him. Dangerous loser if you asked me.

But hey, he sure does know about those spring installs!

That's what I'm worried about. I was counting on selling my old rims to pay off some bills.
Now I'm out of cash and may have more problems if I don't get the money soon. If he's playing some
kind of games I'm going to have to take this to a higher authority.

I think there were some guys on this board that posted in this thread that said they knew him. I would pm each one of them and ask them to help you out. I think everyone here knows this was wrong and that there is no excuse for this type of business ethics. Good luck. If it helps you to know, I'm going to be praying for you

I just filed mail fraud charges. I will also be contacting the local authorities to make a formal complaint. I think I've given him more then enough time to refund my money and he just hasn't done it.

Sadly enough, I guess I won't be getting the Y-pipe or rims anytime soon....
