I got scammed...really badly...
I got scammed...really badly...
I didn't know where else to post this, so I thought this forum was most approriate.
I sent a $180 postal money order to a guy who was selling me his used digicam. We exchaged e-mails 10+ times, and I was fairly confident that the trasaction would go smoothly. And to add to that, I've never had one problem with fraud and all of that bad stuff. But the week after I sent the MO to his address in Canada, he blocked his e-mail and his phone#. I took a second look at the pics of the cam he sent me, and it reminded me of pics I've seen somewhere else. Turns out they came from a reviewer's website, since the serial numbers were EXACTLY the same.
What should I do now? I tried going to the post office, but they said that since it was cash, they can't do anything about it.
I don't want to give up, but I don't know where to start. Help me...

I live in Toronto.. what's his address? I'm not suggesting violence by this, but I have several friends who are about 4-5 times my size and are just about as many times more insane than I am... I don't mind making a visit with them at my side asking that he present me with the item or the funds... PM me if you like if I'm in his area..

Spend the $8 fee and get a refund for the money order...and soon...
look on the back of the receipt for the MO (I know you kept it) and send it in for a refund...takes about 3-4 weeks but worth it.

If it was cashed by the person who you made it out to, which is was, then I don't think you can get your money back.
