I looking for recommendations for a shop in Middlesex (preferrably southern). I've heard that Acme Nissan was OK, but need more confirmation. I need a t-belt and power steering pump.

Avoid Sansone Nissan Rt.1 at all costs.. they are evil. If you must use a dealer to work on your car.. then I guess Acme or Somerset Nissan (on Rt.22 by Bridge Water) are the lesser evil.

Thanks for the heads-up. I ended up going to Acme to get the power steering pump fixed, t-belt, exhaust,the trans fluid replaced and an oil change. The work appears to be done competently, but it seems the usual dealer tricks were used. The phone estimate I got for the exhaust was low-balled. I checked the actual parts and it was correct, so when you add the labor it worked out - so *maybe* it was a mistake. They said they found a cracked front motor mount, which I asked to see. They later said it was just a casting flaw and was OK -again - maybe a mistake. The exhaust is still back ordered even though they said it should arrive in time with the other reparis. Again maybe not there fault but the service writer said the it should be here within a day. The oil change wasn't done, but I wasn't charged. On the plus side, they didn't rip me off on the power steering and only replaced the steering pump hose and not the pump. And they did find bad steering rack boots during the inspection. The work appears OK so far and their labor rate was less than the local shop. Unfortunately our local shop of 20 years turned the work away for some unknown reason.

Nissan dealerships around here are horrible. I only go there to pick up parts that I need ASAP and have the labor done elsewhere (local mechanic). Otherwise I'll buy the parts online and have it shipped.
