maximumtuning sucks big time

in case you guys dont know i blew my motor and s/c about a month ago.
the engine is rebuilt and in since 7/5/04. vortech has had the s/c about a month and today they finally call me. the reason for my blower failure was do to metal shavings from the blades because of improper installation of the metal sleeve that goes in between the the air filter hole and the blower itself and they tell me thats not covered under warranty. they said it wasn't installed properly and too talk to the shop who put it in but it will cost me 500 dollars to repair it. so i call jeff from maximumtuning and he tells me he's not responsible for it because i could of took it off to clean it B.S its brand new why would i try and clean it. then he tried and say he just changed the belt but didn't touch the air filter it went back on the way it came off now if any of you know jeff he's always doing extra things he sees doesn't look right or need fixing but he states in this particular case he put it back on the way it came off. now he was the last one to touch my s/c but he's claiming that the 500 dollars in damage is not his problem. so be it i have ways of dealing with these situations and he will be dealt with. i trusted this CS to work on my car properly and this is how i wind up.

sorry about that jeff wasn't thinking straight. originally performance factory did all of my performance work until recently. i got into a accident earlier this year and destroyed my s/c from a side impact. since it was in the shop i didnt want to wait till the bodywork was done then let them work on it so i attempted the job myself. the install of the new s/c was fairly easy except a couple of screws were difficult but i did it.but i had belt alignment issues and i couldn't figure it out. i tried everything i knew me and morpheus17 figured out the alternator pulley was pushed in from the accident now this is after taking the s/c out about five times, frustrated i went online and looked up maximumtuning and jeff told me bring it up and he'll look at it so i did. he said he would charge me 250 dollars to fix the problem which he did and while he was working on it i gave him a brand new belt to put on just incase that one got messed up from running off the pulleys. so not only did he fix it he said he corrected a couple of things that got moved like the oil cable to the s/c the hose was a little bent etc. i also had installed at the same time the stage 3 v.b and B&M tranny cooler and the job was excellent. i had no idea the sleeve was rubbing on the blade and i was so happy to get my car running which i posted in the s/c section that i told him he was the only one that would touch my s/c. but as soon as i called him he made 100 excuses instead of trying to figure something out. now enough of you guys know me personally and you know i dont need nobody's hand me out or money but if i pay you to do a job and you wont share the reponsibility if something goes wrong thats bad business. im waiting for stillen/vortech to send me a written explanation and then i'll deal with it then but until then i gotta find some stockings and pimp my -ss.

If Jeff installed it, he is the one at fault.

your right deezo and he knows it. at least say something like listen im sorry for your problem theres a 50% chance it could of happened here or someplace else but i'll fix your belt or something for free the next time you come just because thats the right thing to do not that its my fault.i would have to respect that because theres a very slight chance that it could of moved there by itself (not).but just dont tell me your not responsible when in court a judge will rule him some what responsible, i've been there before because i can prove he touched the part that failed and he has to admit to that because he did the work. its just the hassle of taking him to court. or i could put his eyeballs under my nuts so thats all he'll see when he opens his eyes (theeese nuts) lol.

Goto Court. If the cost of your claim is under $3000.00 you can file at the Nassau County Small Claims court for $15.00 or something like that. Its right behind the Sears at the Broadway mall. If you can't settle it with Jeff, then do it this way. Sorry to hear about this man. I don't want to hear anything bad about someone's ride or taking someone to court but stuff happens.......

thanks andrew i will do just that. he already said take him to court and he wont lose so theres nothing to settle. i have a couple of lawyers that i use for my company who have won suits for me in the past to consult with but once i get my letter from stillen/vortech and the reason for damage then i can proceed. im not sure what im sueing for yet but this whole job has ran me 3,000 for motor rebuild plus another 500 dollars to rebuild the s/c. if the metal shavings help contribute to motor damage

For you non-NY guys who posted to this thread, you don't know Jeff or the quality of work and service he has provided to many "east coast" .org members here!

CMax, while I'm sorry to hear about your SC and the situation between you and Jeff, there are alot of members here who still stand behind him just as he would stand behind his work. By all MEANS, I am not questioning what you say isnt' true, I just hope you guys can work something out w/o this situation turning more ugly.

sorry to hear about the SC...but before the rest of the lemmings jump on the bandwagon let's hear Jeff's side of the story. most of the time it's just a misunderstanding that turns into this.

if he did screw up...Jeff is human...no one is perfect.

Do it my way. If you know someone is wrong and f_ucked s_hit up. Don't ask questions. Take matters into your own hands. If my mehanic did something wrong i know for a fact that was his fault, and i said something about it and he denied it. Some one is getting an *** beating. Sorry to hear that.
