Does UPS mess up a lot?

I finally got a reply from MobileTek saying that UPS messed up my order and that it was lost in there system. Does this happen frequently? I checked the Dealers/Venders page, and found a thread pertaining to my issue. I guess MobileTek has a reputation of not responding to emails after the person has placed an order and has sent money.

I'm just confused. Would UPS be to blame for this incident?

Is mobiletec gonna resend your package or not? If they gave you a tracking number you would know if UPS messed up or if the package was never sent.

i usually found that fedex actually delivers 1 day before the expected delivery date. I love that about fedex

i have a friend who works at UPS. According to his stories, there is a definite possibility of your package being "lost in there system"

Yeah, thing is, I was never given a tracking number. I used to work for UPS for a short period of time. It goes like if there is a package that has no shipping address, they will send it back to the vendor.

Thing with this is, I was asked to give them a shipping address through email. Hello, isn't the shipping address already in PayPal.*Checks* yep, it's there alright.

I contacted PayPal, and I am getting my money back. MobileTek finally respoded to my emails saying that UPS messed up, and that it's somewhere in there system. I call BS. A package can't get lost for 2 weeks. UPS would be all over that ****.

FYI. Don't do business with MobileTek, they will steal your money, and try to cover there asses.

From my experience, I wouldn't put it past them. Personally I prefer FedEx, cheaper and faster, plus the boxes tend to be in better shape when they arrive.

I have been using UPS Ground services for my own business for the past three years and knock on wood, we've never had a major problem with any of our shipments. I ship anywhere from 5 to 25 orders a week. Once we had a problem with an International shipment, but that was because the customs paperwork was filed incorrectly on our side. Overall, I think their service is real good. FedEx is generally used for and is better for the shipment of documents and envelopes. UPS is used more for larger packages.

That has never happened to me with FEDEX or UPS, 100+ deliveries each. They are either on time or a day late, happened twice.

I've heard more bad experiences on this board with MobileTek than I have either UPS or FedEx.

Or not leave it on your doorstep when you are not home 75% of the time.... They said they wouldnt change that policy on my address, so I told them "**** you im going with USPS for now on".

I havent used UPS since, and i've noticed USPS gets my packages to my house twice as fast as UPS and its cheaper. Not to mention they leave the packages at my house when im gone. Am I worried about safety? No, I live 30 seconds from a police station.

I love USPS.

never had problems with ups losing packages or delaying shipment, only thing is that they claimed to have attempted to deliver my stuff and that i wasn't home to pick up when i was, i usually follow the ups tracking numbers i get and wait on those days to try and be home. happened a few times, didn't hear door or get a notice, had to wait for their "2nd attempt", otherwise, ups is pretty reliable, they have delivered lots of stuff for me. only thing i hate is their policy where you have to sign for packages and they can't leave it at your front door.

Oh man i have a personal relationship with them because of that. They have done it all to me and i have done it all to them. Supervisors, numerous trips to their office, i even chased one of the delivery trucks across town. Saw it pulling out of my sub as i was coming in and that was the final thing i could take. Friday noon.. "no way you are pulling this on me"

crazy or not i got my package 20 mins later though.

I prefer fedex and ship via them. I think UPS is totally retarded for forcing you to call them and basically giving you a 15 minute margin to pick up your package the same day.

USPS rocks, are always on time but, they are more expensive (priority mail).. often though you don't get a choice of carriers unless you are the shipper.

If Mobiletek hasn't given you a tracking number, they're lying. It is possible for UPS to lose orders in their system, reschedule them, damage them, and so on. But, there is always a tracking number. It will show a pickup scan at the very least if Mobiltek actually shipped it. We do 100+ packages a week with UPS, and about 50 with USPS. UPS's tracking system is far superior to USPS. Our main problem with UPS is that they destroy a lot of packages, at least their insurance pays out.

I'm an account manager for an IT company who ships thousands of packages a day. I've never had a major issue with UPS. They've lost packages on occasion, but are always quick to resolve the issue. I think MobileTek is giving you the run-around on this one. They should re-ship the item to you while the lost package is traced.

You can't really blame UPS if they have a tracking number for your package. It's up to the shipper to settle any problems with them. You should not have to suffer either way because MobileTek should have shipped you another package while they settle the insurance claim with UPS. Hope you get your money back from them.

Thing is, if there was a package messed up in the UPS system, it would be returned to the seller. I haven't gotten a response from MobileTek in a week. There is a thread in the Dealer forum, saying that MobileTek has a reputation to do this kind of stuff. I was told that my package would have been there on the 29th of October. 2 weeks later, and still nothing. Then they try to blame UPS that the order is lost in there system.

ive had instances where ups loses my packages or damages packages etc.. but i always claim more insurance than it worth so i can be covered completetly for the damage or lost pacakges.

i either use fedex or ups and or usps all have their good and bads it all really depends where you live too.

Its all about were you live. In this area UPS is much better than FedEx. I've ordered many things and all got here. Sometimes they were one or two days late. The three times I've ordered from tirerack.com the product was here the NEXT DAY via UPS!
