Moisture in Speedometer area.

Letme put this in E* Z* terms... I have some kind of moisture from the Host Tx weather inside my plastic area above my steering wheel.... Anyway to open this puppy up and clean it off? Also has anyone ever had this problem before?

i have the same problem with my 91 max. The plastic area appears to have some mildew or some stain growing. When I took the plastic off to get it cleaned the stain would not come off. I sprayed some WD-40 on it and let the oil soak in. Then, I wiped off the oil and it returned back to the way it was. I, too, do not know how to get the stain off. Might as well buy a new one.

i am not sure if the nissan dealers sell this part, but I am sure if you go to the junk yard, you can find one there.

Bringing up something of an old post, but thought I'd throw this out there.

Nissan recommends against using rubbing alcohol to clean their plastics as it will fog up clear plastic such as gauge cluster, clock, etc.. There's a TSB on this.

I would use an actual plastic polish to remove a stain from clear plastic. I've done my gauge cluster and clock lens (previous owner must've used rubbing alcohol because it was foggy looking). Worked great, and even got hairline scratches out. They look like new. Best plastic polish/cleaner I've ever used is "Novus Plastic Polish #2" (and I've used a lot of them). They also have a #3 for deeper scratches, and a #1 which is a cleaner. No 2 will remove fine scratches, haziness, abrasions, and discoloration. You can call 1-800-548-6872 for the nearest distributor. If you use #3, you'll need to go over it with #2 (just like using a heavy cut polish on your paint).

To remove the clear plastic, remove the dash cluster, and then push in the tabs holding the clear plastic to it. You'll see what I mean. Be very careful or you'll break the little tabs.

You can get some plastic polishes at Auto Parts stores. However, the higher end stuff like Plexus, Autoglym, and Renovo can only be ordered online or gotten at a specialty shop.

For online links to get the polishes, check the thread called Online Detailing Supply Vendors.
