I started with the small stuff. A few of the aluminum lines..

I don't think I'll tackle the intake manifold just yet
I've heard its a PITA. Anyone seen a 2K2/2K3 with it polished?

I use Mothers Aluminum/Magnesium Polish. Comes in a little jar about the size of a baby food jar for about $3.00. It works really well for my wheels, aluminum lines in the engine bay, and any other metal parts in the engine bay.
