Here's a 2002 TL with one layer of Ibiz wax and no prior waxing.

Here is a 92 Grand Marquis that gets washed/waxed about once a year. Ibiz wax and nothing else.

92 GM again....

And one layer of Ibiz on a 1996 Benz with stock paint. No prep work.

It looks like some of my other pics are not working. WTDR says they should be up again soon.

Well I decided to detail the maxima for the first time since I bought it. Man I thought the paint was in a lot better shape than it really is.

I used S100 paint cleaner and then topped it with the s100 paste wax. I'm sort of satisified. However the paint cleaner only removed some of the swirl marks so I'm going to have to do it over again with something a little stronger next time. Any suggestions guys? Here are some pics that came out pretty crappy but you get the idea:

I couldn't resist.......

This car has been through 12 New England winters and the paint is still as glossy as when it rolled off the showroom floor. I just used the Meguirs 3-step system (1 - cleaner wax, 2 - deep crystal polish, and 3 - carnuba wax). I clay bar'd the paint last summer, but haven't done so since then).

Now if only I could host a hi-res pic

Well, I clayed they car and then waxed it. 1st time ever waxing this car, I normally pay someone to do it. And the 1st time EVER clay baring it.

The clay bar was ok, IMHO. It was not the "greatest thing ever" like I have heard. Now, I may not get the FULL benifit form it, being the 1st time me using it. It may have done more than I think. The bar was dirty.

It did clean out my door handles and they have NEVER been this clean since I bought the car.

Also did the headlights and winshield.

I used Joy dish soap to get all the BS off the paint. Then clayed, then waxed.

Anyway on to the pics....

Finally get to post some showoff pics. Phtography is not as good as I would like (going from film SLR to digital point and shoot is tough!), but it's good enough.

I finally learned the value of using a lighter polish instead of relying on DACP's diminishing abrasive...Menzerna FP is some really sick polish. The wax is Pinnacle only...no sealant until fall when I am sure the paint is 100% cured. Can't wait to see how this stuff looks layered. I really like how it works with the dark green paint...making it look much darker and wetter and showing off the pearl clearcoat. Good stuff for 60 bucks!

That is sweet, it must be nice having rims with large enough space between the spokes to get your hands in there.

Hate to continue beating a dead horse that's over a year old, but this thread was intended on showing the fruits of our labor, correct? So I dug up a few more pics. It's not exterior related, but I still enjoyed the outcome.

After

Some more after shots

And this concludes my presentation

I braved the mosquitos and finally took it upon myself to wash, clay, and wax my Max! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. It's not too bad for 6 year old paint. After washing it I was almost depressed after looking at the paint closely, but the clay bar lifted all the junk off and I'm amazed! I used the Mother's clay bar and wax. Hopefully I don't get the West Nile Virus now...
