Maybe somebody can help me out here...I was reading the owner's manual of my wife's new Saab 9-3 and it says to preserve the rubber seals around doors, windwows, etc., to wipe them down with glycerol (aka glycerine).

I have searched several places looking for info on where to buy glycerol, but have had no luck. Anybody have good ideas??

In use 303 on mine...works well to keep them soft and conditioned. Back to Black would probably also work well.

Yeah, I have been doing some research on 303 today. Seems just about everybody here uses that. But is there anywhere to buy it in stores?? All I can seem to find is on-line sales.

Try www.303products.com to find a dealer near you. I used a locator on that site to find my nearest dealer. The only place in my area to get it is about 25 miles away, but it is very much worth it. You could also call RV or boat centers and ask them, as they could be a dealer.

Try Marine stores. It seems to be marketed towards boaters a lot for their canvas dodgers and plastic windows and stuff. I know my local Boat US carries it.

Good suggestions everyone...when I tried to locate a local dealer on 303's website it only gave one obscure business not very close to me. But this morning I pulled out the phone book and started calling marine shops, the first place I tried carries it.

I'll be picking some up soon.

I have used liquid saddle soap to moisterize a leather jacket when the mink oil (like car wax) paste didn't absorb well enough. I logged into this site to get info on preserving the rubber bulb on an old bicycle horn and to keep the rubber band on my goggles for swimming. I will try the liquid saddle soap and see how well it works. It's great to know that I have an additional use for this spray. I purchased a bottle at a farm supply store such as TSC (Tractor Supply Co.) which is a chain of stores. There is at least one in KY, Elizabethtown, where I used to live, and two in the periphery of Charleston, SC, Ravenel and Summerville. I think I paid less than $7 for a 12 oz bottle.

I'll have to give that stuff a try. It looks like they also make it in wipes which should make it easier to apply to door seals.
