Power wash

Took my Max to one of those do it yourself power washing places today and washed and rinsed my Max. I noticed when I got back home there were several long scratches on my hood...looks great on my black paint btw.

I didn't notice the scratches before, could the scratches be from the power wash??

Thanks

I don't think the power washer would have done the scratching unless you dragged the tip on the hood. I don't use them on my car, but we used to wash all our trucks at work with them. I never noticed any scratches.

With my Max, I prefer to be more gentle with the washing....I only wash by hand.

I usually wash by hand, but sometimes if I don't have the time, I'll use the power wash. Funny thing is, I founds about 6 or 7 scratches on my hood, and they're all run horizontally across the hood...

So I'm really not sure what caused the scratches. My initial reaction was the power washer...

I suppose it might be possible the washer made them. Some of those spraters pack quite a wallop. Any chance your hood has been repainted?

If it had one of those overhead hoses that followed it it may have run over your hood and scratche dthe hood. Also some of those car washes have a power brush as well. If you used it without washing it before you could have scratched the paint with dirt that wash in it. I always think of the do it your self power wash as sloppy seconds because you have to deal with the junk the person before you left there.
